Yes there are restriction, but this will depend on who you approach, and how the ABI was received.

A) If you received the injury through a vehicle accident then you would be covered to some extent by MAIB in Tasmania or your local state motor accident insurance board.

B) If you receive your injury through work, the you should be covered to some extent by work cover.

C) If the injury is received outside of these two main areas then you have to source help from a number of government organization such as Disability services, TABIS, Hospitals, your own home and contents insurance company and community support organisation in your state.

There is always help out there you just need to talk to the right people who can either help directly or put you in touch with those that can.

Yes you can lead a very normal and happy life, after recovering from an acquired brain injury. The only thing is, that is most cases you may not be able to do some of the things you were able to do before the injury, and life would have to have a change of pace.
